Beer Camp SXSW website



I won't post website designs too often. Mainly because the 'industry' is kind of static, and gems like bio-bak.nl or super innovations happen rarely. Still, from time to time we get examples of smart use of the existing web design techniques (and let me just say this right here: flash is not worth supporting as a website format). This time we get an Iception-style website where your usual scroll functionality works as a zoom feature instead of just moving the page up and down. Not much to add - You just HAVE to check the site itself, and please please please 'scroll-in' all the way to the end.

    That site was amazing! If they don't use flash, what do they use? I'm trying website design but I'm still learning the basics.

    The functionality is provided by javascipt and jQuery. The rest is a simple css.
    If you're into web design I recommend using "Inspect Element" option in chrome - it let's you easily dissect the pages and look at their components.

    I agree, that design is sleek and refreshing! Also it reminds me of www.powersof10.com project about magnifications in terms of power of ten.

    It might be nice but it's completely unusable. I'm on a new iMac, and it doen't work at all in Chrome, and is slow as hell in Firefox.
